This Durban born woman is not only highly qualified but also has the necessary experience to lead the electricity supplier through these trying times. Mthombeni holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry as well as Biochemistry from the University of Fort Hare. She also has Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Environmental Management. Mthombeni began working in the industry in 1996. She mainly focused on water management. After spending eight years abroad, she returned to South Africa and started working for Eskom. Vicus Visser, the 17-year old singer who was dubbed Bloemfontein’s Justin Bieber, has had a busy year after becoming an overnight sensation. This young talent attends Heatherdale Secondary School in Heidedal. He was the focus of a nationwide search when his rendition of All 4 One’s These Arms was uploaded on YouTube. Following his discovery, a number of local and international recording companies lined up to sign him on. They included Sony International, BET Black Entertainment Television, and other local recording companies. Reverend Sello Dire is known as one of the province’s most outspoken religious leaders. He emerged as a strong moral voice and has not shied away from speaking to power. Dire, who is a senior presiding elder of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and the President of Free State Council of Churches, was born in Pretoria.
