The Free State MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Mathabo Leeto will today host a motivational session for all Grade 12 learners and educators in Nyakallong, Allanridge.

This is a continuation of a long-standing relationship that Leeto has with all the schools in the area, which has seen a drastic improvement of Grade 12 pass-rate at both Mosala and LA Wesi Secondary Schools.

In 2016 Leeto handed over school uniforms to all schools in Nyakallong, Allanridge and continues to provide support to local schools in various ways.

The MEC will be accompanied by community leaders and departmental officials who will all have an opportunity to offer motivation and exchange ideas with both Grade 12 learners and their educators.

“The children and the youth of our province have a constitutional right of access to basic education. We have been consistent in the provision of access to quality education as it forms the basis for an empowered and prosperous society,” Leeto said.

“Our progress witnessed throughout the levels of the education system points to an improvement which reassures prosperity. The education of our children is a societal issue and it requires all of us as a society to have a role to play.

Our support as parents, government, and educators is critical to ensure that we continue to produce learners with relevant skills and knowledge. Our schools should also inculcate a culture where school sport and cultural activities are encouraged,” she added.
