. .  Talent scouts believe she’s a star in the making

Stunning Caitlyn Rockman was recently named the Face of Free State Fashion Week (FSFW) 2017 on the closing night of this year’s edition of Free State Fashion Week.
The 15 year-old also came out tops in the Public Choice category.

Rockman modelled designs for 14 designers namely; Zibu’s Wear, Pabalo Creations, House of LH, Sharon Griffiths, Regardless Couture, Depula Designer Wear, House of Kirosch, Mantsho, Indlovukazi, House of Mareka, Misguided Exhibition, Ruby Gold and Ruby Red as well as Cherissa Williams.

The beauty joined well-known modelling agency E-Models last year February and was encouraged to participate in the regional auditions for the International ARTS Talent Showcase (IATS). This is an annual talent event which brings talent from all nine provinces in South Africa to showcase their performance abilities to international talent scout Kim Myers.

The occasion provides participants with an opportunity to be chosen to represent South Africa at the Applause Rising Talent Showcase in the USA.

It is also a platform for artists from various faculties including acting, singing, modelling and dancing to showcase and develop talent as well as to gain knowledge and experience of all aspects of the industry.

Rockman progressed from the regional to the national IATS event that took place during October 2016 at the Silverstar Casino in Gauteng. Here she received the call-back to participate in the convention that will take place in Orlando, Florida, USA from 31 July to 6 August 2017.

One of the significant opportunities to develop her modelling potential came as a result of the inaugural 2016 Free State Fashion Week. Caitlyn walked for international designer, Michael Bezuidenhout, at the 2016 Free State Fashion Week as well as a number of other designers, including K Couture and Ruby Red.

She was again selected by Michael Bezuidenhout to model his designs at the 2016 Mrs Bloemfontein Fashion Show.

The determined model has also participated in various modelling assignments, a photoshoot and the parade of the Free State Flower Festival that took place in Parys in November 2016.

Speaking about the young model in a telephonic interview with The Weekly, Bezuidenhout said, “One thing about her is that she’s a natural. She’s one of those people who were clearly born to do this and her winning the competition was not a fluke. She’s worthy of the crown.”

Rockman recently signed with talent and artist management agency Just You in Johannesburg, believing that Elsubie Verlinden and her team are the perfect match to help guide her future.

Candy Smith, organiser and founder of the FSFW said this year’s competition was extremely competitive as all designers brought their utmost best propelling the show to international level.
She also congratulated the winner, who she regarded as the future.

“She proved at her age that she has what it takes to not only compete, but to win as well. She is indeed a star in the making,” said Smith.
