Tell us more about your position at IFA.
IFA Legends are appointed to this forum once they have served three consecutive years as Achievers, have attained a Club 5 000, and have a minimum of 10 Earning Key Appointments on their first level.
Legends are regarded as IFA business leaders and are held in high regard by the rest of the network.  They spend much of their time creating new earners, helping others achieve various Clubs, and motivating existing IFAs. The objective of the Legends Forum is to help lead other IFAs by setting examples of how to be a successful IFA.
What do you enjoy about your job?
Seeing the smiles I bring to people who I have helped or introduced to IFA. It fulfils me to see financial growth in their lives. With direct selling I am bringing home six times my teacher’s salary. I am passionate about direct selling because it gives me the opportunity to touch people’s lives. I am in a fortunate position in that I am able to show people from disadvantaged backgrounds that they can make a change.
What have you achieved since joining IFA?
For the past ten years I have been receiving awards for Top Commission Earner provincially and Top Points Earner and Top Presenter. The one I cherish most is the DSA Personality of the Year Award, which honoured and recognised me as an individual who, within my organisation, has excelled in performance, participation, and achievements during the past 12 months.
What do you do besides working for IFA?
I am a property developer, motivational speaker, and I am currently working on my first book.
Elaborate on your motivational talks.
I give motivational talks on Lesedi FM and Motheo FM where I mainly talk about the different kinds of abuse women face in their households. I have also released two podcast CDs: Who are you when everybody is gone? and Close that chapter and move on.
I was going through a difficult time when I released these CDs, and I did not think that I would ever pull myself out of that situation. Going through a divorce is never an easy thing, so I thought by sharing my message and what pulled me through during that tough time, I would also help someone out there.
What is your book about?
The book is not out yet, but it will be very soon. The book is about healing and moving on. It speaks about me and the challenges that I have overcome. I am giving myself a standing ovation to talk about my life. I was one of the hundreds of women who stayed in an abusive relationship and kept quiet about it, but in this book I am saying “no more’.
Do you have a mentor?
He is Hector Kunene and he has been there for me every step of the way, encouraging me to be me, and be the best I can be. I am working with him on my book. My other mentor is Eva Seobi, the founder of Women Alive Movement.
What advice would you give to women who are facing challenges in their life?
You must know who you are when everybody is not there. Never get distracted by what people think about you. You must play your game and never compete with anybody. Always believe in the Lord for He will pull you through.
